znse Crystal

Description:

Shape Optics provides Cr²⁺, Co²⁺, and Fe²⁺ doped ZnSe/ZnS multi-crystal ceramic gain materials and saturable absorbers. These materials offer significant benefits for mid-infrared laser applications.

Direct Gain Materials: Cr²⁺, Co²⁺, and Fe²⁺ doped ZnSe/ZnS crystals emit light with wavelengths of 2-3 µm, 3-4 µm, and 3.5-5.5 µm, respectively. These doped crystals cover a wide range of the mid-infrared spectrum. They are characterized by their broad tunability, wide gain bandwidth, long pulse duration, and high damage threshold, making them ideal for mid-infrared laser applications. They are commonly referred to as “Mid-Infrared Gems.”

Saturable Absorbers: Co²⁺, Cr²⁺, and Cr²⁺serve as saturable absorbers (SA) for “eye-safe” wavelengths, ideal for Q-switched solid-state lasers operating at 1.5-2.1 µm. These materials are widely used in free-space communication systems, laser range finders, laser radar, and other laser measurement systems.

Fe²⁺and Fe²⁺, also used as saturable absorbers (SA) for wavelengths ranging from 2.5-4.0 µm, are ideal for mid-infrared Q-switched solid-state lasers, including 3 µm Er/Er/YLF lasers. They are primarily used in mid-infrared OPO pump sources and various medical and dental applications.
