General Description

Shape Optics Technologies (SOT) offers a comprehensive range of Biomedical Optical Filters designed for the stringent demands of biochemical and medical instrumentation. These filters are widely deployed in biochemical analyzers, microplate readers, and analytical systems where precise wavelength control is critical.

Manufactured with exceptional mechanical durability and spectral stability, SOT biomedical filters maintain consistent optical performance over extended periods. Their high transmission, tight wavelength tolerance, and strong out-of-band blocking significantly enhance measurement accuracy by reducing noise and improving signal clarity—key factors in reliable biochemical analysis and diagnostics.

Standard sizes include 8 mm, 10 mm, 12.7 mm, and 15 mm, supporting wavelengths from 340 nm to 630 nm, with customization available for specific instrument or assay needs.

Spectrum Transmission Curves & Custom Solutions

Standard spectral transmission curves are available for all products.
If standard components do not meet your application requirements, custom biomedical filters can be designed to your exact wavelength, bandwidth, and blocking specifications.

Coating Quality & Environmental Reliability

All biomedical filters are tested to MIL-C-675C and CCC-C-440 standards to ensure durability and reliability:

  • Adhesion Test: LT-90 tape test, three removals; no blistering or peeling
  • Temperature Cycling: −62 ± 1 °C to 71 ± 1 °C; no film detachment
  • Abrasion Resistance: ≥1.0 lb (0.45 kg), 25 cycles; no surface damage
  • Humidity Resistance: 49 ± 2 °C, 95–100% RH for 24 hours; film intact
  • Solvent & Cleaning: Acetone and alcohol exposure; no peeling or scratches
  • Salt Spray: 100 hours at 35 °C, 5% NaCl; excellent corrosion resistance
