2. General Description
Shape Optics Technologies Pte Ltd (SOT) offers a comprehensive line of Neutral Density (ND) Filters, designed to reduce the intensity of light passing through an optical system without affecting the color balance. These filters are available in a variety of optical densities and sizes to meet specific application needs. ND filters can be used to prevent overexposure in photography, optimize light levels in optical instruments, or control the light intensity in experiments. Their spectral transmission characteristics make them an essential tool for research, imaging, and industrial applications, offering a highly customizable solution depending on the required performance.
SOT’s ND filters are manufactured to meet industry standards for optical clarity, high performance, and durability. The filters are produced with precision coating techniques, ensuring a long lifespan even under demanding conditions.
3. Spectrum Transmission Curves
The following transmission curves illustrate how the filters provide light attenuation with consistent transmittance across the spectrum. These ND filters are suitable for applications that require precise control of light intensity across a broad range of wavelengths.
(If standard components are unavailable, customized ND filters can be designed according to your specific wavelength and transmittance needs.)
4. Coating Quality
- Adhesion Test: Compliant with MIL-C-675C military standards, a tape adhering to LT-90 specifications is applied and removed vertically from the lens film layer three times, resulting in no blistering or peeling.
- Temperature Test: Test pieces are subjected to temperatures of -62±1℃ and 71±1℃. The adhesion test is repeated after exposure, confirming no film detachment.
- Abrasion Resistance Test: Conforming to MIL-C-675C and CCC-C-440 standards, a gauze tester applies a minimum force of 1.0 lbs (0.45 kg) to the film. This procedure is repeated 25 times, ensuring no damage to the surface.
- Humidity Test: Filters are exposed to a controlled environment of 49 ±2℃ and 95-100% humidity for 24 hours, showing no defects or peeling after the test.
- Solvent and Cleaning Testing: Filters are subjected to acetone and alcohol at room temperature for at least 10 minutes. After cleaning, no damage to the surface is observed.
- Salt Spray Test: After 100 hours in a 35°C environment with 5% saltwater concentration, no damage is evident on the film.
